The legendary group Psquare won the best group while D'banj who won the Evolution category which is meant for established artistes who have made a huge impact on the African music scene, taken African music to new heights around the world and pushed the boundaries of creativity.
D’Banj beat fellow Nigerian representatives Asa, Psquare and 2face to the awards. Fally Ipupa (DRC), Samini (Ghana), HHP (South Africa) Chameleone (Uganda), Black Coffee (South Africa) and Anselmo Ralph (Angola) were also nominated. The better side of the news is that he dedicated his award to his day 1 producer, Don Jazzy.
