Jack is a loan officer at a brokerage firm and in love with Demi, the daughter of the firm’s president. When Jack learns that Demi is dating a man from one of New York’s wealthiest families, he decides to make his move – and propose to her at her father’s annual Christmas dance. Unfortunately, he cannot dance, so Jack signs up for professional lessons with dance instructor Christine.
At the same time Jack lands a huge account: a developer wants to buy an entire city block to turn into luxury condos – the block containing Christine’s dance studio. Jack does not have the heart to tell his charming dance instructor that he is partly responsible for forcing out of her beloved studio, especially now, as he is falling in love with her. At the Christmas dance, Demi is all over Jack but he cannot stop thinking about Christine. When she shows up at the party, having been hired to give lessons, she is surprised to see Jack. When they dance together, their mutual attraction is obvious to everyone. Demi aggressively reclaims her man – just as the developer congratulates Jack on closing the deal.
